Captain Matt Brockman

A fully Licensed USCG Captain. Born and raised in Longwood, Florida and has a lifetime of experience on and around the water. Matt attended Florida state where he studied Economics, Entreprenureship, and while he was finishing his last semester, decided to change corse and attended Sea School, where he received his USCG Captains license. Fishing has always played a major role in his life, and inshore fishing in particular has been his primary expertise. Captain Matt is also a second generation fisherman of the New Smyrna Beach, Ponce Inlet and Mosquito Lagoon areas. When not on the water Capt. Matt can be found either working hard selling boats, as he is also a fully licensed Yacht broker, or enjoying some of his other passions for the outdoors like hunting, or enjoying time with friends and family.

The Locations

  • Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna Beach is home to some very impressive fishing. From Daytona Beach to Oak Hill and everywhere in between, there's lots to discover. Capt. Matt has spent his whole life exploring and getting to know these waters. This area is home to a beautiful diverse ecosystem loaded with lots of very unique wildlife, as well as some pretty cool history. The area is booming with life!
  • Mosquito Lagoon, located just south of New Smyrna Beach, is a part of the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. It is home to a wide variety of species some local and some migratory. The Lagoon is a place like no other, it has minimal tidal flow but is still primarily salt water. Take a trip here to see what unobstructed natural Central Florida is really like.
  • St. Johns River, Like taking a trip back in time to historic Central Florida. This river is teeming with life, one of two rivers in the world that flows North. There are lots of options whether you want to cruise to Blue Springs State park and see the manatees in the winter or head down south and run next to free range cattle grazing on the pastures just off the bank.  Or target some fresh water fishing with seasonal Shad and Sunshine bass migration runs or the local bass and Crappie bite.
  • Winter Park Chain of Lakes,  a  pristine  chain  of  lakes  located  in  the  heart  of  Central  Florida ,  just minutes from Orlando. The lakes are decorated  with  lavish custom built  homes  and  teaming with loads of native Florida freshwater fish, birds and all sorts of other wildlife.
  • Marathon, Florida Keys is a world famous fishing destination. Located in the heart of the Florida Keys,  with Florida Bay and the Gulf of Mexico to the North and the Atlantic to the South directly between key largo and key west marathon is the place to be when it comes to fishing.
